This guide explains how to diagnose and resolve turn signal issues on the RCR 80V. In many cases, problems are caused by a loose flasher relay or poor connector contact, not failed bulbs or a full harness issue.
Common Turn Signal Symptoms
You may notice one or more of the following:
-
One front signal not working
-
A rear signal appearing dim
-
Only one side functioning correctly
-
Signals failing to blink or blinking inconsistently
Before replacing bulbs or wiring, follow the checks below.
Step 1: Check the Flasher Relay
What it does
The flasher relay controls the blinking behavior of the turn signals.
If loose, it can cause:
-
No signals
-
Dim signals
-
Intermittent blinking

How to check
-
Power the bike off.
-
Remove a side panel.
-
Locate the small black box inside the bike.
-
Find the short wire labeled “FLASHER.”
-
Identify the small module plugged into it (looks like a flash drive).
-
Ensure it is fully seated.
Test
-
Power the bike on.
-
Activate the turn signals.
-
Gently wiggle the relay connection.
If signals start working, the issue was a loose connection.
Preventative fix
-
If the connector feels loose, secure it with electrical tape
-
Position it so vibration cannot pull it loose
Step 2: Check Turn Signal Harness Connectors
If the relay is secure, inspect the main signal connectors.

How to check
-
Open the side panels.
-
Locate the white and orange connectors for the turn signals.
-
Unplug both connectors.
What to inspect
Water exposure can cause:
-
Corrosion
-
Poor contact
-
Dim or non-functioning signals
The photos provided are examples of water-damaged pins.
Resolution
-
If dirty: clean gently and reconnect
-
If bent: carefully realign
-
If heavily corroded or damaged: connector may need replacement
Reconnect securely after inspection.
Step 3: Final Check
After completing both checks:
-
Confirm all signals blink evenly
-
Confirm brightness is consistent front and rear
-
Reinstall all panels securely
