RCR 80V BMS App Guide

This guide explains how to update the Battery Management System (BMS) firmware on the RCR 80V battery.


Important Notes (Read First)

  • Current BMS firmware version: v1.5

  • The battery case and bike frame are metal, which can interfere with Bluetooth

  • You will need to hold your phone very close to the battery for the BMS to appear

  • Some users report iOS devices may fail to complete the update

    • If this happens, use an Android device


What You’ll Need

  • RCR 80V battery 

  • A phone or tablet with Bluetooth

  • Superpower BMS app

Step-by-Step BMS Firmware Update



Step 1: Install the Superpower BMS App

  1. Download and install the SuperpowerBMS app using the links above.

  2. Enable Bluetooth on your device.


Step 2: Prepare the Battery

  1. Hold your phone very close to the battery case.

Tip:
Because the battery case is metal, Bluetooth range is limited.


Step 3: Scan for the BMS

  1. Open the SuperpowerBMS app.

  2. Begin scanning for devices.

  3. If the device does not appear:

    • Toggle the battery on/off switch a couple of times

    • Keep your phone close to the battery


Step 4: Select the Correct Device

  • Look for a device named:
    KYS-xxxxxx-xxxxxx

  • Select this device to connect. Toggle the device on/off switch a couple of times


Step 5: Enter the BMS Password

  • When prompted, enter the password:
    999997


Step 6: Update the Firmware

  1. Confirm the current firmware version.

  2. Proceed with updating to version 1.5.

  3. Do not move your phone away from the battery during the update.

  4. Wait for the update to complete fully.


Step 7: Finalize

  1. Once the update finishes, close the app.

  2. Power the bike off.

  3. Power the bike back on.


Known Issue – iOS Update Fails

Some owners have reported that iOS devices are unable to complete the BMS update through the SuperpowerBMS app.

If this happens:

  • Switch to an Android device

  • Repeat the update steps above
